Dessert Shop and Bakery offering cupcakes, scones both sweet and savory, muffins, whoopie pies and bread and rolls!  All gluten-free!!

Mariann writes 11/12/2016:

On this beautiful November Saturday our drive to the west side of Cleveland took us to the Lakewood neighborhood to check out the offerings at the newly opened Bouche Bakery and their g-f baked goods!

Our samplings for today included the savory cheddar jalapeno scone (5 stars according to my husband), vanilla frosted chocolate cupcake (beyond doubt the best chocolate cupcake we have ever tried and the buttercream frosting was extraordinary) and finally we even finished a slice of an amazing cinnamon bar (basically a nice thick slice of glazed cinnamon pecan bread).  We also brought home some blueberry muffins to taste test later in the week.

West Side Market

Ohio City

The West Side Market is Cleveland’s public oldest market and is home to 100 vendors offering meats, seafood, fruits, vegetables, baked goods, dairy, flowers, ready-to-eat foods, spices and nuts.

Vendors are friendly but be sure to ask if their items are gluten free.

Eileen shared her thoughts on gluten free at the market:

All the meat and vegetable vendors. We like Kaufman poultry and the vegetable vendor at the door off the parking lot make an immediate left and they are on your right. The fruit stand right across from them is very good.
Ohio City Pasta used to have gf pasta but it’s made at the same place as there other pasta.
I like Judy’s Oasis they have dips like hummus.
I love Urban Herbs especially their poultry seasoning.
For lunch I’ve eaten at Nates which is fast and cheap. Great Lakes Brewing is very gf friendly and good. There’s also Flying Fig or something Fig restaurant that is good.
A very very favorite is Momocho Mexican very gluten friendly and fabulous and very busy. I’m not sure it’s open for lunch but make reservations.

After a ‘yoga hop’ event on International Yoga Day June 21st, a group of us dined at Namaste India Garden.
Although I was the only gluten-free attendee and it was my first time there, I was duly impressed with their menu, which clearly indicated both gluten-free and vegan options.
Those options were quite extensive in both the appetizer and main entrée categories. Can’t wait to go back and sample more of their menu.
