Pizza Hut

Local and Multiple Locations Nationwide.

Archived by Diane on 5/22/20 as Pizza Hut no longer works with GIG (the Gluten Intolerance Group) and their website carries this disclaimer:

Pizza Hut kitchens are not gluten-free environments.   While we do provide the option of gluten-free crust for those looking to reduce gluten in their diet, we cannot guarantee that our restaurant environment or any menu item will be free of gluten.   We do not recommend this pizza for customers with celiac disease.

Check out the listing at the Pizza Hut webpage  for all the locations offering their
version of gluten-free pizza.

Multiple locations nationwide.

Pizza Hut, working with Udi’s and GIG (the Gluten Intolerance Group) is now offering a gluten free pizza in about a third of all stores. The one size, 10 inch pizza, (6 slices) is $9.99 for cheese and $10.99 for pepperoni. Check for Locations here.
The Udi’s® Certified Gluten-Free crust is stored in a separate container, on a separate shelf in their fridge. The cheese, marinara sauce and pepperoni are stored in a gluten-free designated kit, and every gluten-free pizza is freshly baked on designated parchment paper in their ovens. Other toppings can be added, but there is no guarantee about these being gluten free.

In addition to these storage techniques, team members who make your gluten-free pizza wear gloves and even use a designated gluten-free pizza cutter to cut your pizza to perfection.

Disclaimer? Yes, (as many restaurants do), Pizza Hut has this to say:

“While Pizza Hut® is proud to offer pizzas with gluten-free ingredients, Pizza Hut kitchens are not gluten-free environments. Due to the handcrafted nature of our menu items, variations in vendor-supplied ingredients, and the use of shared cooking and preparation areas, we cannot assure you that our restaurant environment or any menu item will be completely free of gluten.”

Randy our waiter informed us that Hudson’s has a dedicated gluten-free fryer and kitchen prep area. We had french fries and an order of mashed potatoes was also specially prepared gluten-free. We also had a chopped salad and prime rib that were also great. Hudson’s also offers gluten-free pasta.  They don’t have a gluten-free menu because they want allergies to be called to their attention. They also have a dedicated kitchen area for people allergic to shellfish.

Tate’s Bake Shop Cookies

I wanted to recommend Tate’s Bake Shop Ginger Zinger Cookies. I found them at West Point Market in Akron.  They have a really nice flavor and crisp texture and don’t taste gluten-free at all more like a real bakery cookie . The package weighs 8 oz and is $5.99. They also sell a gluten-free chocolate chip cookie  which I haven’t tried yet.  Their  packages states that the cookies are baked in a gluten-free facility.
