MULTIPLE LOCATIONS LOCALLY AND NATIONALLY.
Although Outback has a gluten free menu, several times I’ve been served food with gluten – most commonly croutons or other cruchies in the salad. May be worthwhile talking to the manager, in addition to your server, about your gluten free needs.

A couple weeks ago my son and I visited the Westlake Outback restaurant, on a weekday early in the afternoon and were seated immediately. During the lock-down period, I resolved that after it was over, I wanted a Chocolate Thunder from Downunder gluten-free dessert. Although I carefully checked the website for their inside dining re-opening (Chocolate Thunder just isn’t the same when ingredients are divided into little plastic containers for to-go.) and knew they were not taking any reservations nor call-aheads for times, etc., when we arrived and were seated we were told they had a limited menu – no Chocolate Thunder from Downunder! The waitress said it would be available again at some future time. Since I had already had lunch at home and only wanted my dessert, I had a baked sweet potatoes with all the trimmings – which I also like. We did feel very safe dining there, but I’m not going back until my fave dessert is back once again!!
