I had a good feeling about Jersey Mike’s even before entering the restaurant. A large poster in the window advertised gluten free subs on Udi’s bread.
The friendly staff clearly knew their gluten free stuff. They recited the disclaimer: we are not a gluten free facility and then sprang into action – changing gloves, wiping surfaces, getting special condiments and fixings from the back, reaching for a clean knife.
You watch them make the sub sandwich and the team cheerfully responded to my ongoing questions.
It is thrilling to be offered a choice in sandwich size. I chose the regular size which by itself made 2 meals for me. But just knowing I could have had the giant size sub . . .
I recommend the Turkey Breast & Provolone which came piled high with turkey. The Udi’s roll held up well even making it to my enjoyment of the “leftovers” later in the day.
Being able to enjoy a sandwich while out and about makes me happy. I’ll return for more happiness.
I ate at the Mayfield Village location and Jersey Mike’s has many other locations around.
Recently went to Chagrin Woodmere location. Workers changed gloves but otherwise no accommodation. Bread crumbs on counter not cleaned. Would have made my sandwich using the shared lettuce and tomatoes. Left disappointed.
Tried the tub option. No bread. Any sub and toppings served on a bed of lettuce. In a plastic container.
My new favorite. Was surprised and pleased to see they had individually wrapped Udi’s cookies for sale.
I found the bread to be very dry. I had to gulp my drink with every swallow. I give them an A for effort though!
I didn’t realize Jersey Mike’s offered gluten free subs until I read these posts and I tried one and I am HOOKED! They ask if this is for an allergy and they either completely wipe down the slicer and the counter tops or they use a separate slicer and change their gloves and if you ask for mayo they will use the squeeze container. I was so impressed and had a true sub sandwich for the first time in 10 years and they are DELICIOUS! I would highly recommend going. I have visited the Parma Store and the Cuyahoga Falls store and have been very impressed!
I told the sub guy that this was the first restaurant sub I’ve had in 8 years. Next time I’ll ask for the roll to be toasted a lot.
I was disappointed at the Macedonia location and left without eating there.
The staff did not seem as well informed as my experience at the Mayfield store.
I was told “our store is too small” as the reason that they were going to “wash the lettuce and tomatoes” from the line. Was told they would have to do the same with any in the back as well.
Did not inspire confidence. So I followed my better safe than sorry rule.
I had a sub for the first time last week in Macedonia. Staff was knowledgeable (asked if for an allergy). I was thrilled to get a sub,
I just found out the one in Chardon had GF foods a few weeks ago. Up until then I thought my time of “sub” sandwiches was over! Like Diane said, the staff was wonderful and the sandwiches were so good.
Now I know what I’m having for lunch today. The only other fast food I can eat is a burger at 5 Guys. I always want to tell restaurants I can’t eat at that 1:133 people can’t eat at your restaurant.
I had a similar experience in Westlake
