UPDATE 5/1/16

Hello,
My name is Courtney and I am one of the managers at Bomba Taco’s & Rum in Rocky River.  I just wanted to let you guys know we pride ourselves in being able to cater to all sorts of allergies!

I was wondering if you could add us to the list of restaurants that have a gluten free menu? We here at Bomba would really appreciate it!!

Bomba Tacos and Rum
recently opened in Rocky River.
Owned by the owners of Paladar, it features more than 25 kinds of tacos, along with numerous other entrees, side dishes, and appetizers.
Do be sure to bring your own tortilla chips for the fabulous guacamoles, since their chips are fried in a mixed-use fryer.

We have been spending a lot of time visiting The Fairmount since moving to Cleveland Hts.  The staff is friendly and capable.  Some are more knowledgeable than others so be your own advocate.  If you are uncertain about something ASK!!  They have offer tacos that can be made on corn tortilla or lettuce, recently added g-f flatbread to the menu and my understanding is g-f beer – hoping it is Bard’s!  They also have some hard ciders available and in cold months hot cider that is great spiked with Rum!

I’d first tried going to Scrambler Marie’s soon after my celiac disease diagnosis years ago. My request for gluten free food was met with blank stares. So, I was delighted to see they now have a gluten free menu.

I went on a Saturday, mid-morning, and when I asked the greeter about their gluten free menu her answer was not reassuring. She said that she didn’t think they could really make anything gluten free. But, I decided to give it a try. They’d gone to the trouble of having a GF menu, after all.

Our assigned server could not have been less interested in assuring I had gluten free food. Instead of ordering one of their GF menu items, I erred on the side of caution and asked for 2 eggs cooked in a clean pan.

After quite a wait, a different server abruptly dropped the plate in front of me.

The eggs were fine. The attitude and care for GF dining – not so much.

Eat at your own risk.

Also in other cities in Ohio and Detroit.
