Pappou’s Family Restaurant
Parma
MaryLou visited Pappou’s Family Restaurant, ordering Liver & Onions. There is no gluten free menu. She commented:
Would definately recommend. The chef and the server provided numerous options. Restaurant very clean & bright, seats 100. Closed on Mondays. Recommend asking server to check with chef. Extensive menu.

UPDATE 5/10/16
From Mariann:
I’ve recently had the pleasure of dining at Town Hall three times in the past 2 months. At TownHall you will find a menu that includes all options of preparation – traditional, gluten-free, gluten-free available, vegetarian, and vegan. They have been hard at work updating and keeping their menu relevant to all diners. This is a really busy place to go, plan to wait, but enjoy the options. Last visit I had the lamb burger with the g-f bun (too much bun for me but it was appreciated that it was available) and probably the best mug of bone broth ever (outside my own kitchen). I opted for the vegetable medley since I was having a burger on bun and the vegetables were super even for this not-a-vegetable eater! I opted for a bloody mary while everyone else was having beer since they don’t offer a simple g-f beer (ciders and kombuchas only). While the drink was extravagant and wonderful my personal choice will always be a beer so I was a tad disappointed, but hey, I got my veg for the day!
From Gay (2013)
I ate lunch at the newest restaurant in Ohio City, Town Hall.
There are numerous items marked “GF” or “AGF” on their menu.
AGF indicates they can modify to make gluten-free.
I had a salad and a really delicious bowl of chicken chili.
It was very busy so I did not have the opportunity to determine if they use a dedicated fryer for their potato fries – which they indicate are GF
Uncommon Grains
Shaker Square Farmer’s Market
Archived by Trisha 2/10/2020 – business closed
NOTE by Diane: Find Uncommon Grains at the Shaker Square Market and Coventry and Lee Road Phoenix Coffee Cafes.
I was surprised and very pleased to stumble upon the Uncommon Grains stand at the Wednesday farmers market at Cleveland Clinic Beachwood. This new dedicated gluten free bakery made its debut today and has plans to sell at this market each week.
I decided to try a bit of everything and bought foccacia bread (my first since going GF 6 years ago!), a chocolate frosted chocolate cupcake, salted chocolate chocolate chip cookies, and a blueberry muffin. Prices are as expected for GF baked goods.
Everything was delicious with a good texture and minimal crumble. The blueberry muffin was especially noteworthy, reminding me of the blueberry muffins I so frequently baked years ago.

Granola Recipe
Thanks, Eileen, for sharing this easy and delicious recipe:
I was watching a Michael Symon show and he gave this granola recipe so I made it gluten free and it turned out really well. It does make a lot ! Measurements don’t have to be exact.
a package of GF rolled quick oats (not instant)
a package of cashews (or other nuts)
a package of slivered almonds
a package if shredded unsweetened coconut
cinnamon
3/4 C olive oil
1/2 to 3/4 honey
pinch of salt
dried fruit **
Mix all together
Bake at 325 degrees on a half sheet pan spread the granola out in a layer maybe about 1″ thick for 30-40 minutes until golden brown. Mix half way through baking.
**You can add dried fruit after baking (I added dried cherries and raisins after baking)
Freezes well
